The Teachings of Jesus This is a summary of the Words of Jesus. You will see that Jesus wants us, to be: humble, meek, gentle, non-violent, and totally trust in God. Jesus wants us to Love everyone, with a forgiving, merciful Love. And Jesus wants us to see our oneness with Him.
(1) Meekness and Humility Mt 5 - Blessed are the meek
Mt 6 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth….. But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven.
Mt 18 - Whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mt 20 - whoever desires to be great…let him be a servant. Just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve.
Mt 22 - He who is greatest among you shall be your servant….. He who humbles himself will be exalted.
(2) Non-violence Mt 5 - I tell you not to resist an evil person, but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
Mt 10 - Do not fear them…
Mt 14 - Do not be afraid…
When we trust in the divine care of God, we are not afraid. We know that God Loves us. We do not have to worry, because God is our protection. And when we trust completely in God, even in the face of violence, we are showing great inner Faith.
We may suffer, in this world, at the hands of the violent, yet we know that our future is secure. We know that we have eternal life in Heaven.
We would rather be harmless and non-violent, even if it means temporary pain or suffering, than violent to others. Because we know that Love will win the hearts and minds of others, rather than violence.
When we show others compassion and love…..even when they hate harm, hit or persecute us….we are affecting them in a great way.
Love is the only way to win the hearts of others. Love is the only way to change others.
When we follow the ways of Love, which means non-violence, then we can make a difference in the world. Our lives will not be in vain. Others will be affected by our lives, in a positive way.
Let Love be our guiding force. Let our Faith be in the ways of Love. We know God is Love. And when we trust in Love we are Trusting in God. When we show Love…. we show God.
Let us have complete trust in God’s Infinite Love.…and teach the world, by the lives we live….and our actions….and we will help change the world.
Violence will only perpetuate more violence. In order to break the cycle of violence, we have to be non-violent. Our gentle example of Goodness and Love…… is the way to live.
(3) Persecutions Mt 10 - you will be hated….for My Name’s sake
Jn 17 - the world has hated them…because they are not of the world……just as I AM not of the world.
(4) Anger, Judging or Condemnation Mt 6 - Judge not……condemn not.
Lk 6 - Judge not, and you shall not be Judged, Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.
(5) Forgiveness Mt 6 - if you forgive……you will be forgiven
Jn 20 - If you forgive the sins of any……they are forgiven them.
(6) Loving Others Mt 22 - Love your neighbor as yourself.
Lk 7 - Her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she Loved Much.
Jn 13 - Love one another……as I have Loved you.
Jn 15 - This is My Commandment…that you Love one another…as I have Loved you.
(7) Believing That God Loves You Mt 11 - Come to me….all you who labor and are heavy laden…and I will give you rest
Jn 17 - That the Love with which You Loved Me..…may be in them ….…and I in Them.
(8) Pride Lk 11 - Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the marketplaces.
(9) God Loves Everyone, and We should also Mt 5 - Love your enemies…..So that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven, for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
Mt 5 - Love your enemies…..do good to those who hate you.
(10) Do not show off or seek fame from men Mt 6 - Take heed that you do not do your good works before men, to be seen by them….do not be like the hypocrites…....And your Father in Heaven will reward you.
(11) Worry Mt 6 - Do not worry……..therefore do not worry about tomorrow.
Acts 1 - It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority.
(12) Mercy Mt 9 - I desire mercy and not sacrifice.
Lk 6 - Therefore be Merciful, Just as your Father also in Merciful.
(13) Faith Mt 9 - According to your Faith, let it be to you.
Mt 15 - Great is your Faith…let it be as you desire.
Mt 25 - well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things…I will make you ruler over many things…Enter into the Joy of your Lord.
Mk - 5 - Your Faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.
Lk 7 - Your Faith has saved you. Go in peace.
Jn 5 - He who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent me…has everlasting Life…….and shall not come into judgment.
Jn 6 - He who believes in Me..…has everlasting Life.
Acts - that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by Faith in Me.
(14) Oneness Mt 25 - as you did it to one of the least of these my Brethren…you did it to me.
Lk 8 - My Mother and My Brothers, are those who hear the Word of God, and do it.
Jn 10 - I and my Father are ONE….the Father is in Me..…and I in Him.
Jn 14 - If you had known Me…...you would have known My Father also.
Jn 15 - I AM the Vine ….you are the branches.
Jn 17 - that they all may be one……as You Father…are in Me…..and I in You……that they also may be One in Us.
